    9mm 124gr. JHP Ultra Match™

    Super Vel® Ultra Match™ offers the ultimate in accuracy for competitive shooters or anyone wanting to wring out that last Nth degree of precision. Our 124 gr. JHP Ultra Match™ is manufactured to exacting tolerances of both dimensions and weight.

    Super Vel® first produced Ultra Match™ in 1963 with a 148 gr. Hollow Base Wadcutter in .38 Special for revolvers in bullseye competition, but today’s accuracy-driven competitor is shooting a 9mm pistol, prompting us to resurrect Ultra Match™ with an ultra-accurate 124 gr. JHP at 1,050 feet per second to meet power factor requirements of NRA Action Shooting, Bianchi Cup and USPSA disciplines.
     
    Many shooters assume a “hollow point” is a defensive style of bullet and in most designs, that’s correct. However, the most accurate pistol bullet requires a copper base, perfectly flat for the powder gases to push the projectile evenly and true down the bore, without deformation. This necessitates exposed lead at the nose of the bullet, not the base, hence the hollow point. By profiling the nose with an ogive for total reliability, not necessarily expansion or terminal performance, a jacketed hollow point design for maximum accuracy is produced.
     
    Ultra-Match™ is at home on the most demanding ranges, from the National Matches at Camp Perry to your local club venue, wherever the ultimate in precision is most needed.

      Found the holy grail! Reliable, accurate, consistent. If your sport requires accuracy and precision like mine, these new ULTRA MATCH are a game changer. Unlike some JHP or truncated rounds these feed flawlessly in my 2011. When everything is running well your confidence skyrockets and your performance peaks. I can't say enough good things about this new round. This will be my only match ammo moving forward, period!!!

      I trusted Super Vel’s JHP Ultra Match to get me through 2025 Tactical Games Nationals… and it must’ve felt bad for my competitors because it didn’t miss a single shot. Feeds flawlessly, hits exactly where you tell it to, and somehow makes you feel like a better shooter than you probably are. Would recommend to anyone who likes winning — or at least pretending they shoot like they do.
