Description: Utilizing a solid copper hollow point for reliable expansion and maximum stopping power, Super Vel's .380 ACP "Pocket Rocket" is the most potent self-defense load possible for what is essentially a low-pressure, low-velocity cartridge designed originally for blow-back pistols. John Browning invented the .380 ACP (9x17mm) in 1908 for his Model 1908 pistol. Our solid copper hollow point travels at 1,100 feet per second (from a Walther PP) but expands reliably for the best terminal performance. Description: Super Vel's hottest, fastest 9mm Luger load is ideal for sub-compact 9mm pistols like the S&W Shield or Glock 43. Rated at +P and in compliance with SAAMI pressure guidelines, this load launches a 90 gr. jacketed hollow point at over 1,600 feet per second (fps) for 512 ft/lbs of muzzle energy from longer barrels like a Glock 17L. But even with a 3.39" Glock 43 factory barrel, Super Vel's rip-snorting 90 gr. JHP delivers 1,473 fps and 434 ft/lbs of muzzle energy! If you carry a sub-compact, this is your load! Description: Super Vel cracked the code of making a subsonic expanding bullet with a 115 gr. Solid Copper Hollow Point that expands dramatically at subsonic velocity (1,000 fps). We did it with special heat treatment to our proprietary copper alloy, making the bullet expand to over .700 caliber while deploying six sharp cutting petals— and penetrating 13 inches in ballistic gel. This is just what the doctor ordered for subsonic defensive 9mm ammo! Description: Solid copper is "barrier blind", zipping through drywall, plywood, windshield glass, car doors and other obstacles far better than conventional bullets. Description: Traveling at 900 fps, well below the speed of sound, our Hush Puppy® 147 gr. FMJ load is a soft-shooting, mild-recoil alternative to full-power 9mm ball. The IPSC power factor is 132, ideal for competition. Because it is a soft-shooting load, the 147 gr. Hush Puppy may not cycle suppressed pistols reliably with the factory recoil spring; a reduced-power recoil spring may be necessary.- Dealer Pricing:

Description: In 1967, the U.S. Navy type-classified Super Vel's 9mm subsonic 158 gr. FMJ as the Mk 144 Mod 0 ammunition, designed for their Mk 22 Mod 0 "Hush Puppy" pistol. We have duplicated the ballistics with the same bullet at the Navy's specified 965 fps velocity. This load was necessary to replicate the recoil impulse of standard 9mm ball so that even with a suppressor attached, the Mk 22 pistol would still cycle reliably. The 158 gr. Hush Puppy load is specifically made to cycle suppressed pistols with the original factory recoil spring whereas our similar 147 gr. subsonic load may require a reduced-power recoil spring to cycle with a suppressor.- Dealer Pricing:

Description: Designed specifically as a defensive cartridge, the .40 S&W offers both a large bore diameter and high velocity to assure effective stopping power, maximized with our Solid Copper Hollow Point bullet. Solid Copper Hollow Points expand to double caliber, .800” or more, while deploying six sharp cutting petals. Penetration is a key attribute of Solid Copper too, and this 125 gr. SCHP zips through barriers such as heavy clothing, wallboard or a windshield without deflecting or breaking apart. Description: Long revered for its man-stopping knockdown power, the .45 ACP cartridge reaches a whole new level of performance with our 160 gr. Solid Copper Hollow Point (SCHP) at an honest 1,200 fps. Expansion is reliable and dramatic, typically .900 caliber, and bullets display a six-petal sharp profile from pre-fluted grooves in the bullet nose to dictate the expansion and shape. As much as we respect our Super Vel 185 gr. JHP load (also a +P loading, like the 160 gr. SCHP) we have to confess— the 160 gr. SCHP is a better load. Solid copper bullets are "barrier blind" so unlike a conventional jacketed-lead combination, a solid copper bullet penetrates right through sheetrock, plywood, car doors, windshield glass and heavy clothing. Description: Driving a .45 caliber 185 gr. jacketed hollow point at 1,150 feet per second, Super Vel's premium offering for the .45 ACP is a +P load that delivers 544 ft/lbs of muzzle energy. Accuracy is excellent, as usual for the venerable .45 ACP, and reliability is superb. - .38 Spc. +P 90 gr. JHP "Super Snub"
Description: "Super Snub" is specifically tailored for snubnose revolvers, launching a 90 gr. Jacketed Hollow Point at over 1,300 fps from a 1 7/8 inch S&W J-frame barrel. "Super Snub" performs exceptionally well in ballistic ordnance gelatin, the only valid test of terminal performance. Our Jacketed Hollow Points typically expand to over .60 caliber with 95+ percent weight retention and penetration from 10 to 13 inches. Description: The .357 Magnum is the "original magnum," introduced by S&W in 1934. Now, we've upped the payload even further with a 110 grain Solid Copper Hollow Point bullet that expands to double-caliber diameter while deploying six sharp cutting petals within the first inch of impacting soft tissue. The wound cavities from these 110 grain solid copper bullets are impressive! Penetration varies with velocity, which varies with barrel length, but from 4" to 8" barrels, penetration ranged from 18" to 24" with 100% weight retention and double-caliber expansion. Description: Super Vel's new 10mm Auto load is the best load yet, a 160 gr. Solid Copper Hollow Point at an honest 1,250 fps from a Bren Ten. (Other real-world velocities from other pistols are listed on our Technical Data pull-down page.) The SCHP bullet is designed to spread six cutting petals upon expansion, which occurs within the first inch of impact. Penetration is exceptional, averaging 15 to 18 inches in ballistic gel. Expansion is dramatic, over .800 caliber with six sharp cutting petals. Description: Featuring a solid copper hollow point that expands to double-caliber while deploying six sharp cutting petals, Super Vel's .44 Magnum will make your day with a velocity of 1,650 fps with a 180 gr. SCHP (as measured from an 8 3/8" Model 29; more real-world velocities are found under the "Technical Data" tab on this website). That's over 1,000 foot-pounds of muzzle energy (1,088 ft/lbs) to take the steam out of the toughest hog! Our solid copper hollow points are not only powerful, but also they're exceptionally accurate. Description: Solid copper bullets penetrate, expand and maintain their integrity far better than conventional lead-core bullets which tend to fragment in the classic “core-jacket separation.” Super Vel's .223 Rem. 62 gr. Solid Copper Hollow Point (SCHP) achieves maximum stopping power because of the solid copper bullet integrity. The 62 gr. SCHP bullet deploys six sharp cutting petals as they expand after hitting soft tissue. Even when fired through various “barrier” materials such as sheetrock, plywood or windshield glass, our solid copper is “barrier blind” and delivers both accuracy and terminal performance even after passing through an obstacle. The bullet has a small hollow point and a boattail, both of which aid accuracy; target bullets often are “BTHP,” boat tail hollow point. Description: Super Vel's "Certified Select" Training Ammo is re-manufactured with once-fired brass casings. This 9mm Luger load features a 115 gr. FMJ bullet at a nominal 1,150 fps which is a standard pressure loading, not +P like our more potent "yellow box" hollowpoints. - 9mm Luger 147 gr. FMJ Competition
Description: For competition, our 9mm Luger subsonic 147 gr. FMJ boasts all three attributes you want in match-grade ammunition: consistency, accuracy and cleanliness. Consistency refers to both the physical dimensions of the cartridges— taper crimp, overall length, primer seating depth, case sizing and so forth— and also to the reliability which derives from such tight tolerances. Consistency also includes velocity, and here is where our proprietary powder comes into play. During chronograph testing at a USPSA Area championship, the extreme spread between high and low velocities was 4 feet per second! The nominal velocity is 900 fps, which translates to a 132 power factor. The heavy 147 gr. bullet takes down poppers reliably. Accuracy comes from the consistency, and the cleanliness derives from our proprietary powder. You’ll be amazed how “clean shooting” this load is!- Dealer Pricing:
