"I am shooting Supervel 9x19 90 grain hollow-points in my custom Fowler Industries Glock model 26 and model 19 concealed carry pistols. Using my chronograph, velocities for the subcompact G26 are 1,420 feet per second, 10 shot average. The compact G19 chronographs 1,440 average. Standard deviations for 10 shot strings are about 10 feet per second in both pistols. Accuracy is outstanding with the 90 grain Super Vel load.
The G26 and G19 regularly produced off-hand five shot groups at 25 yards from one to two inches. Every shot is right on call. I believe part of the reason for the superior practical accuracy of the Super Vel ammunition is due to the high velocity, light bullet combination. Because of the high velocity, bullet dwell time in the barrel is short. The bullet is out of the barrel before the shooter can spoil the aim. Recoil is minimal, making for fast and accurate follow up shots.
I checked to confirm what I was seeing by putting one of my Glock’s in a Ransom rest. When fired, the pistol rotated about 30 percent less with the 90 grain Super Vel load than with other comparable other self-defense loads. The ammo has been completely reliable in my modified Glock’s, and I carry the 90 grain Super Vel load in my Glocks every day."

"From a terminal-performance standpoint, the 185-grain .45 ACP and 115-grain 9 mm loads met or even exceeded my better-than-average standard of more than 13 inches of penetration while still expanding to at least 0.58 inch. The 90-grain 9 mm load did not meet that threshold, but did create a massive wound cavity. However, the real appeal of this lightweight load is shootability.
